As a weight lifting enthusiast, it is quite evident that you are well aware that we slave to get at least one gram of protein per pound of body weight. For those of us who work a full time job, have a family and go to the gym four or five times per week. Fitting in enough time to eat and knowing when to get the right combinations of protein and carbohydrates is not always so easy. Remember that in addition to the one gram of protein per pound of body weight, we also strive to time the post-workout shake or meal to contain a ratio of two grams of carbohydrate for every one gram of protein. This times nutrient intake (which actually can be ingested before and after your workout is clinically proven in a multitude of research studies to promote anabolism (muscle growth) rather than letting your muscles whither away.

The goal of this “recipe” information sheet is to help both you and your family figure easy ways to get enough protein in your diet, even when living a hectic life. Each of these kitchen-tested recipes has been specifically designed for the NytroWhey Extreme product. The unique ingredients in the ProSource product line and the specific examples of various shakes, breakfasts, lunches, dinners and any time protein-rich snacks are power packed for your success in and outside of the gym.

breakfast NytroWhey Extreme Recipes

NytroWhey Power Pancakes:

This breakfast is power packed with calcium ~300mg (which helps to control body fat and weight), is a good source of fiber (to keep you feeling full longer) and provides high quality protein (for maintaining and building muscle mass).

  • Preparation time: 5 minutes!
  • Cooking time: 10 minutes
  • Makes: 4 tasty and delicious servings (3 - 4 inch pancakes)

Ingredients
1/3 Cup
1 Cup
1Tbsp
2 tsp
1/4 tsp

NytroWhey Extreme Vanilla (or flavor of your choice)
Whole Wheat Flour
Brown Sugar
Baking Powder
Baking Soda
Salt
Skim Milk
Egg
Vegetable Oil (Olive or canola is preferred)
Cooking and Mixing Instructions
1. Combine flour, NytroWhey Extreme Powder, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
2. Lightly beat milk, egg and oil. Add to dry ingredients and mix until just blended.
3. Bake on preheated griddle (400 degrees F), turning when edges appear dry (about 1-1 1/4 minutes per side).

NytroWhey-O’Meal:

This Protein Punch of an oatmeal is an excellent source of protein, contains a good amount of fiber is naturally cholesterol free and is low in fat. For those that want the right jump on the day.

Ingredients
1 1/2 Tbsp
1 Package
NytroWhey Extreme (flavor of your choice)
Instant Unflavored Oatmeal
Cooking and Mixing Instructions
Conventional Directions (thinner consistency):
1. Add NytroWhey Extreme to the dry (uncooked) oatmeal and stir.
2. Add 1/2 cup of boiling water and stir.
3. Add 1 packet of Equal/Spleda/Sweet-n-Lo after the oatmeal/protein is thoroughly mixed.
Microwave Directions (thicker consistency):
1. Add NytroWhey Extreme to the dry (uncooked) oatmeal and stir.
2. Add 2/3 cup of water and stir.
3. Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes.
4. Add 1 packet of Equal/Spleda/Sweet-n-Lo after the oatmeal/protein is thoroughly mixed.

1. Combine cereal, skim milk and Splenda in a separate bowl. Let stand 5 minutes.
2. Mix flour, NytroWhey Extreme protein, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon in medium sized bowl. Set aside.
3. Add egg, banana and vegetable oil to cereal mixture and combine.
4. Add cereal mixture to flour mixture. Stir until moistened.
5. Spoon into 12 greased muffin tins.
6. Bake 18 minutes at 400 degrees F.

InstaProto Pudding:

This is an instant classic. Everyone knows that people love sweets. Use this sweet protein pudding as your snack. Not only is it an excellent source of protein, but it also contains a whopping amount of calcium (> 300 mg per serving). As a naturally fat free, protein-enriched product, this should on your shelf as a stable supplement.

  • Preparation: 5 minutes!
  • Setting time: 15 minutes (after mixing, set in your refrigerator)
  • Makes: 4 1/2 cup servings

Crust:
1. Cream butter and Splenda until fluffy.
2. Add NytroWhey Extreme protein powder and water and blend.
3. Add flour and mix well.
4. Press dough into bottom and 2 inches up sides of a 9-inch spring-form pan.
5. Bake at 350 degrees F for 5 minutes
Filling:
1. Blend together Splenda and NytroWhey Extreme protein powder. Add reduced fat cream cheese and mix at low speed for 1 minute. Scrape bowl and mix 30 seconds on medium speed.
2. Add pumpkin and spices and mix until well incorporated, scraping bowl with spatula as needed.
3. Pour filling into crust.
4. Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes or until firm.
5. Let cool before removing sides of pan.

Ingredients

1. Heat oven to 400 degrees F.
2. Grease 9-inch pie plate with nonstick spray.
3. Sprinkle ham, broccoli, mushrooms, onions and cheese in bottom of pie plate.
4. Stir together Bisquick mix, NytroWhey Extreme Protein Powder, salt and pepper in mixing bowl. Add skim milk and water. Mix until blended. Pour into pie plate.
5. Bake quiche for 35-40 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
6. Cool 5 minutes before serving.
Note: Other meats and vegetables can be substituted depending on your personal taste and preference.
